Congratulations Joe on your MVP award. Fun to have photographed you your rookie year with the Ravens!
What a great time I had with Shannon & Alastair at their engagement session this past month. I loved getting to know them and hearing all about their love story. One thing I love about my job is getting to know my clients. I love hearing how they met and how he asked and all the details about the special day to come. Shannon & Alastair were so easy to photograph, I mean they literally could not stop smiling at each other as you can see in the photographs. I love my job. Oh, and check out the ring. Hello gorgeous.
Since moving to Birmingham Alabama I have gotten to know some incredible Wedding Vendors in the area. Holly Hollon, from Holly Hollon Design & Calligraphy is one of the most incredible designers I know. Her fine attention to detail and fine art style is is gaining her an internationally known status. All of her work is hand done by Holly herself, and customized for each individual client. It has been a privileged to get to know her and an honor to photograph her work. Please enjoy this “Napa Suite” I photographed for her a few months ago. Her work can be seen in more detail at Holly Hollon Design & Calligraphy. UPDATE: This suite was feature on Martha Stewart Weddings!
I am so excited to share a few images with you from Ashley & Bret’s engagement session. Ashley and Bret have been dating since the eighth grade. Their love is so evident in the way they relate to each other. One thing that was such a blessing to watch was not only their love, but the loved shared between families. Both of their families have essentially grow up together as well and watched their relationship grow for many years. Their wedding is going to be amazing and I can not wait to be a part of their special day. I loved that we did some last minute “house divided” photos in their engagement session. Roll Tide…War Eagle…
Being a Wedding photographer is such an amazing job because I get to meet people at one of the happiest times in their lives. A time when they are completely head over heels in love and looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. I had a blast getting to know Jake and Lindsay while taking engagement photos at the Botanical Gardens and in Mountain Brook Village. I was so excited to have found the Old Mill House right in the heart of Mountain Brook, the beautiful backdrop for some of these photographs. It was a beautiful day and we could not have asked for a better weather. Jake and Lindsay are incredibly hilarious, we laughed a LOT the entire session. You can tell these two are best of friends and will have good times ahead.
Thanks for being so wonderful I am so excited for you both! Oh and Jake…thank you for the MANY laughs over the “outakes”. Be thankful I am keeping those to myself… Lindsay does have 2 of them in case you step out of line, just sayin’.
I can not tell you how much I loved this wedding. No really, this wedding was amazing and I believe it was because of who I was photographing. Kristy & Josh have got to be two of the most laid back, sweetest, easy to be around people. Kristy looked absolutely stunning (don’t worry Josh you looked good too but I gotta say Kristy was kind of take your breath away pretty). Kristy started out a little nervous about taking pictures because as she would say “I don’t like being the center of attention”. Well I can assure you she did an amazing job and we were able to quickly get her having fun on her wedding day. We went down to the docks on Gibson Island for some fun relaxed portraits and the dock master said “Hey you want to go for a ride?” I could tell Kristy was a little hesitant at first so I didn’t want to push at all and wanted to let her decide. After a few minutes she turned to me and said “If I don’t do this I just know I am going to regret it.” So off we went on the boat ride and it was FABULOUS. I am so excited to share these pictures with you. When we got off our boat ride I turned to my assistant Heather and said “Do we REALLY get to do this for a living?” As the evening went on the day just kept getting better and better. Sweet toasts, fun dancing and very yummy “sweet light” as the sun was setting. Congratulations again Josh & Kristy, and thank vyou for letting me photograph you on your special day.
Can you say yummy southern goodness. Last week I had the privilege of photographing a very fun event called Christmas at the Caroline house. Christmas at the Caroline House is an event that is put on by the Woman’s Ministry team at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. They start the event with a delicious brunch accompanied by a performance from the Briarwood Ballet Performers. They also have a guest speaker come and share about the Joy of Christ in Christmas. Following the speaker and Performance they have a tour of the woman’s ministry house that has been decorated for Christmas. A talented team of woman share their talents by decorating the house, and when I say “decorate the house” I mean serious business. When walked into the house it was as if you had stepped into a Southern Living Magazine, or the Pottery Barn Catalog itself. Not only was it pretty to look at but there was a sweet reflection of all these woman who poured their talents into this beautiful home, allowing us all to get in the Christmas spirit by sharing creative ideas for the Christmas Season.
Here are a few details that I enjoyed from around the house.
It was so fun getting a call from Fran inquiring about her wedding. We actually had our phone consult on skype which was super fun being able to see the smile on her face as she talked about her David who was away on deployment and would not be home until the wedding. It was so fun that they were married only 2 short weeks after he came home from deployment. I am so incredibly thankful I was able to spend their day with them at the gorgeous Naval Academy. It was PERFECT (minus the tornado warning and rain) but as you can see that didn’t stop them from smiling, and it surely didn’t stop us from taking pictures.
I love how each wedding that I photograph has it’s unique personality. No two weddings will ever be the same. That really is what makes my job so much fun. I get to be with people on their wedding day, experiencing one of the happiest moments of their lives and to capture the feel and essence of their day. What a privilege! Congratulations to Jessica & Graham, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.
[...] Now your groom will be as handsome as ever, or at least as cute as this dog that we found on Stacy Richardson Photography’s blog. [...]
I absolutely loved photographing this wedding. They are such a sweet couple and I knew we were going to have a fun day when I arrived to Candace wearing custom converse kicks with “i do” on the backs. The day was perfect, not to hot, not too cold. The chesapeake Bay Beach Club was a perfect backdrop to their gorgeous wedding. I was also slightly obsessed with the flowers, they were gorgeous, excellent job Brayn Swann from Karin’s Florist. I loved the color scheme of yellows and blues together but more than that I loved my sweet couple together. Their eyes light up when they are together, which always make my heart smile. Thank you for being so much fun on your wedding day and for allowing me to capture your day!
