Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding ~ stacy richardson photography

I absolutely loved photographing this wedding.  They are such a sweet couple and I knew we were going to have a fun day when I arrived to Candace wearing custom converse kicks with “i do” on the backs. The day was perfect, not to hot, not too cold.  The chesapeake Bay Beach Club was a perfect backdrop to their gorgeous wedding. I was also slightly obsessed with the flowers, they were gorgeous, excellent job Brayn Swann from Karin’s Florist. I loved the color scheme of yellows and blues together but more than that I loved my sweet couple  together.  Their eyes light up when they are together, which always make my heart smile.  Thank you for being so much fun on your wedding day and for allowing me to capture your day!

Day after session on the beach ~ stacy richardson photography

I love when I get to do a “day after session” where the couple and I get to spend some time taking some more relaxed portraits the day after the wedding.  This was so much fun to photograph.  Check out the little behind the scene at the end.  I think I love these sessions because I get to shoot in my yoga pants and flip flops:) Day after sessions allow me the ability to shoot in my yoga pants and flip flops! (Yes I am laying on the ground I do what it takes.)

Destination Wedding~Delaware~Baywood Greens Country Club Wedding

I had been looking forward to this wedding everyday since they had booked me last year in January. I had never photographed a wedding at this location and it was such a huge treat to shoot there. Everything was so beautiful and it was a perfect day for an outside wedding on a golf course.  Congratulations to Kristin & Erik.  Stay tuned for their awesome day after photos on the beach!

Destination Wedding ~ Colorado Springs, Colorado

On Tuesday June 26th, the Waldo Canyon Wild Fire ripped through Colorado Springs leaving 347 people without homes. About a mile from the damage, there is a place well known as “The Glen”.  The Glen is a Castle located at the foot of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs.  My sweet clients had planned their wedding there and it was only by many prayers that the fire stopped right at the edge of the property.  Their wedding was the first wedding after the fire only 9 days later. It was such a treat to travel to Colorado for their special day.

DIY Garden & Barn Wedding ~ Birmingham Wedding Photographer ~ stacy richardson photography

When I say Do-it-yourself wedding, I mean serious business when referring to Nicole & Joe’s wedding.  It was a beautiful day and I loved discovering all the tiny details that both Joe & Nicole poured into their day.  Nicole & Joe made most everything for their wedding, from the bouquet and boutonnieres, to the signs, the name hangers, and the huge life size photo-booth standouts. It was incredible to see how talented they both were.  Nicole looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day and Joe was completely enamored by his bride.  Nicole and Joe are big animal lovers and so it was no surprise that they enjoyed the sounds of bull frogs as they said their vows in the garden.  The reception was held in the barn that was absolutely gorgeous.  Nicole & Joe had set out yard games for their guests to play on the back lawn.  They had cornhole and bocchi ball and many other games to play and at the end of the night they raffled off the games to their guests. Another cool thing they did was hire a caricature artist to draw pictures of their guests.  Over all the wedding was completely geared towards a good time with their dearest freinds and family. I am so thankful I was able to spend the day with them.

Incredible shots, Stacy Hansen Richardson! Always quality.

Stacy Hansen Richardson -

thank you so very much Sarah. Looking forward to your wedding in the fall!

Nicole Kimball Ostrowski -

Love love love! Thanks to all of our friends and family who gave up time, money, and other resources to help put together the wedding we envisioned… And thanks to God for such great weather! ;)

Nicole Kimball Ostrowski -

I hope you have a great day, Sarah!! Looking forward to seeing your shots when it’s time. :) Stacy is so great to work with…

Sarah Kwiatkowski -

Thanks, Nicole. You looked absolutely gorgeous!! And I love your dress. Does it have boning in it? And who’s the designer? I got mine with boning, and I hope it gives me the same amazing hourglass silhouette yours did. Stacy, you really did a great job capturing the details of her lace dress. It makes me ever more excited to see what you’ll do with mine! :)

Nicole Kimball Ostrowski -

Thanks! I felt like a huge mess; it was not overly hot that day, but being in a wedding dress felt like it added at least 10 degrees to the outside temp! The dress has boning in it, but I think the corset thingee I had on underneath is what helped most. It is by Forever Yours, style 311102. I got it online (without ever seeing it in person or trying it on). After visits to 5 dress shops and coming home frustrated after each one, I just said the heck with it and bought one online–knowing I wanted fit-and-flare/mermaid with lace and tulle/organza. It worked out…but it was definitely a risk! In the end I knew it was just a dress and as long as I looked “bridal” that was fine by me…because the outcome is what mattered most.

Sarah Kwiatkowski -

If you ever need help finding fancy dresses again, I highly recommend Curvaceous Couture. I – being a plus-size bride – got very frustrated with some stores. This store’s tagline is: because the love of his life isn’t always a size six. I fell in love with the owners (family-owned small business) and the employees. I’m having my first dress fitting on July 13th. I did Blue by Enzoani – Dillon. But I must say again, you cannot tell anything was hot – you looked gorgeous! :)

Nicole Kimball Ostrowski -

How did the dress fitting go? :)

Katie & Matt ~ stacy richardson photography

Photographing Katie & Matt’s wedding was such a joy for me.  I met Katie through photographing the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge for several years in a row.  Katie has the sweetest heart and was such a beautiful bride.  I enjoyed getting to photograph their wedding in Baltimore, MD.  Check out the “where’s waldo” picture I took of the groom getting ready in his hotel room before the wedding.  Love when things like that work out! Funny story behind that, I called my assistant and said “hey have the groom stand in the window I want to take a couple of shots of him from the hotel across the street.”  Well about 15 minutes later she called me back and said “are you done with him in the window?”  I chuckled and said “I was done about 12 minutes ago”.  Sorry about that Matt! Congratulations again and thank you for letting me be a special part of your day.

Chelsie & Nate ~ Engagement Session ~ Stacy Richardson Photography

Chelsie & Nate were so fun to work with.  Nate attended the Unites States Naval Academy in Annapolis and so it was important to them to incorporate the Academy into their engagements photos.  I was so excited when they decided to drive all the way up from South Carolina and Tennessee just for our session. I was in Annapolis for a wedding that weekend and so we were praying that in the small window of time we did have together that it would not rain, as a drive from South Carolina and a flight from Alabama would be hard to reschedule and indoor photos are way less fun. We had such a fun time walking around the academy and then downtown Annapolis. The majority of their relationship has been a long distance one so we had fun incorporating a “tin can telephone” into our session as well.  I love when my clients get creative in their sessions.  It makes the images so much more fun.

Jackson Alabama ~ Birmingham Wedding Photographer ~ Stacy Richardson

What a treat to be able to photograph this Jackson Alabama Wedding for Catherine & Rob.  It was so fun to be able to shoot one of my first weddings right next to Seth’s hometown of Leroy.  Catherine and Rob actually live in Birmingham but married at the church where she grew up in Jackson.  The day was flawless and her family was such a joy to be around. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful day.

Kent Manor Inn Wedding ~ Stacy Richardson Photography

Kent Manor Inn on the Eastern Shore is such a beautiful setting for a wedding.  Ann and Justin have known each other for ever. They grew up on the same street and were childhood friends. It was very fun to get to known Ann as she planned her wedding day. Every detail was well thought out and planned with the amazingly talented Michele Damon Events.  Thank you for allowing me to capture your day.
